To activate this strategy, we proposed creating a Fantasy League, whereby users could engage and interact with a virtual card to experience the card’s cash-back value firsthand by making dream purchases.
Through a vanity Facebook page, the “My Cash Is Bigger than Yours” Fantasy League, we enabled consumers to use the virtual Capital One Cash Card loaded with a $150K limit of virtual funds to make a variety of dream purchases. Users were encouraged to participate through a leader board monitoring their cash-back rewards and to also boast about their extra cash via Facebook and Twitter.
